The manufacturer department to take on Le Mans
ORECA became a race car constructor in 2008 ; a new venture that began with the launch of the Formula Le Mans in 2009 : a single-make formula that allows drivers and teams to make their debut in sportscar racing with a true prototype. For its part, the ORECA 01 took to the track in LMP1, finishing in 4th and 5th positions in the last two runnings of the 24 Hours of Le Mans. The latest design, the ORECA 03 made its debut in 2011 in LMP2, benefiting from an energized focus on the customer program. The car won the 1000km of Spa, the 6 Hours of Estoril and Zhuhai, and finished 2nd at Le Mans after taking pole position and signing the fastest lap of the race.
